Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
While I can't speak on this specific accident and what exactly caused it, there are few situations where someone pulling out of a parking lot into the right-of-way of an approaching vehicle isn't to blame for a resulting crash. There can always be exceptions, sure, but it's more likely they simply failed to yield. That's something I know the families of motorcyclists are always dreading. There's just too many drivers out there who don't keep a proper lookout, and people die as a result. Whether or not that happened here, I just hope authorities are being thorough to give the accident the attention it deserves, especially if it's found that consequences are appropriate.
