Travis County, TX — September 17, 2024, a woman was injured following a rear-end car accident at approximately 9:45 p.m. along I.H. 35.

According to authorities, a woman was traveling in a northbound Mazda Miata a stop behind a Honda SUV due to traffic conditions on Interstate Highway 35 when when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound Honda Fit failed to slow appropriately for traffic conditions. A collision followed between the front-end of the Fit and the back of the Miata. The impact pushed the Miata forward, causing a secondary collision between the Miata and the rear-end of the stopped Honda SUV.

The woman from the Miata sustained serious injuries due to the wreck, according to reports. She was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time.
