Richard Villarreal Killed in Car Accident in Upton County, TX
Upton County, TX — December 24, 2023, Richard Villarreal was fatally injured as the result of a car accident at around 10:00 p.m. along R.M. 1492.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash happened a few miles south of Odessa near the intersection of R.M. 1492 and County Road 308.

According to officials, 32-year-old Richard Roderick Villarreal was in a Jeep Wrangler which was traveling southbound along R.M. 1492. For reasons unclear, the vehicle went off the roadway to the right, then swerved back to the left across the oncoming lanes. The Jeep then exited the road against where it flipped over.
As a result of the crash, Villarreal sustained fatal injuries. There were no other reported injuries, and it appears no other vehicle were involved in the accident. Right now, the cause of the crash has yet to be confirmed publicly.
