Robert Irving Epps Killed in Truck Accident in Dallas, TX
Dallas, TX -- December 22, 2022, Robert Irving Epps was killed following an accident where an 18-wheeler hit his vehicle.
Investigators said that the crash took place at around 10:37 p.m. along the southbound lanes of I-35E near Medical District Road.
It appears that 55-year-old Robert Irving Epps was in a vehicle that became disabled in the center of the freeway. While there, an 18-wheeler slammed into the back of the car. Epps sustained fatal injuries due to the crash. No other injuries were reported.
According to public information, the 18-wheeler apparently had a dash cam which showed the 18-wheeler "made no attempt to stop or avoid" Epps's vehicle. If true, did they preserve this video? It would no doubt be vital in ensuring the victim's loved ones have as much evidence as possible about what happened to their loved one.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
I'm reminded of a tragic event I had a family come to me with that had details eerily similar to these. In the reports on that crash, as well, police said an 18-wheeler hit a disabled vehicle. That truck also made no attempt to slow down or move over, and the trucking company claimed it was because it was too dark to see the victim. Video evidence proved otherwise.
Not only did our investigations reveal video proving the victim was clearly visible, it also revealed video from inside the cabin that showed the truck driver distracted watching shows on his tablet. It was one of the most egregious things I'd seen in my nearly 30 year career, and I was just glad there were investigations to bring that behavior to light so those responsible could face the appropriate consequences.
Right now, I don't see enough evidence to truly say how similar or dissimilar this crash is compared to the example above. What I can say, however, is they both involved families who deserve to know the truth. Are steps being taken here to ensure that whatever led to a man losing his life is brought to light?
