Montgomery County, TX — March 20, 2024, Robert Robinette and one other were injured following a car accident just after midnight on Hazy Meadow Drive.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash occurred near the intersection of Hazy Meadow Drive and Gossamer Lane, an area near Pinehurst south of TX-249.

According to officials, 27-year-old Robert Robinette and a 26-year-old man were in a Honda Accord going through the Hazy Meadow and Gossamer intersection. Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
With single-vehicle wrecks like this, it's always important to ensure all the evidence is clear before jumping to any kind of conclusions. These wrecks aren't always avoidable like folks may think. Mechanical issues, road hazards, tire blowouts, medical emergencies, animals in the road, runaway drivers—common or not, a proper investigation should include those possibilities.
But even factors a driver may have control over can happen alongside other factors they don't. For example, a colleague and I were recently discussing a case involving someone texting and driving and crashing into a truck. Further evidence, however, showed that a defective safety feature allowed for otherwise preventable injuries. The defect doesn't get brushed aside just because the victim may have made a mistake. All contributing factors warrant consideration and any appropriate steps to address them.
Whatever happened here, have authorities been thorough enough to rule out or confirm those sorts of possibilities?
