Robert Wingfield Jr. Injured in Car Accident on I-30 in Bowie County, TX
Bowie County, TX — March 27, 2023, Robert Wingfield Jr. was injured in a car accident around 10:53 a.m. on I-30 in Bowie County.
According to authorities, a Freightliner tractor and a Chevy C2500 with a trailer were stopped on the right shoulder of I-30 facing eastbound when Robert Wingfield Jr.'s Nissan Sentra clipped the rear of the Freightliner tractor. The impact reportedly caused the Sentra to veer toward the grassy median. Authorities believe Mr. Wingfield Jr. then attempted to correct the vehicle which resulted in the Sentra veering back toward the right side shoulder and colliding with the Chevy C2500 and its trailer.
Both the Freightliner tractor and the Chevy C2500 were unoccupied, and authorities have not released the reason both vehicles were stopped on the side of the highway.
