Ector County, TX — August 2, 2024, Roberto Alaniz was injured following a car accident just before 8:15 a.m. along 2nd Street.
According to authorities, 51-year-old Roberto Alaniz was traveling in a westbound Hummer on the E. Business 20 service road at the NE 338 on ramp intersection when the accident took place.
The intersection is reportedly controlled by a traffic signal. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a T-bone collision took place between the left side of the Hummer and the front-right of a northbound Ford F-150 pickup truck. It is still unknown which vehicle had the right of way at the time of the crash due to conflicting statements.
Alaniz suffered reportedly serious injuries as a result of the wreck; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
