Roberto Fernandez II Killed in Alleged Hit-and-run Accident in Horizon City, TX
UPDATE (October 16, 2023): According to recent statement from authorities, the victim has been identified and two people have been arrested in connection with the fatal accident. The victim was 44-year-old Roberto Antonio Fernandez II. Both drivers who allegedly left the scene were identified by authorities and reportedly pending charges for collision involving serious bodily injury or death. The incident is still under investigation.
El Paso County, TX — September 25, 2023, a bicyclist was fatally injured due to an apparent hit-and-run accident at 2:48 a.m. on Horizon Boulevard.
Preliminary information in local media says that the incident happened off the corner of the Horizon Boulevard and Darrington Road.

According to officials, a 44-year-old man was traveling in the area at the time when authorities say two separate vehicles hit the victim. Both of those drivers left the scene of the accident. Due to the collision, the unidentified cyclist succumbed to his injuries.
Right now, police say they're looking for a 2015-2018 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2007-2012 Toyota Yaris. Both vehicles will likely have front-end damage, reports say. At this time, no further information can be confirmed.
