1 Injured in Rollover Truck Accident on I.H. 10 in Fayette County, TX
Fayette County, TX — February 21, 2024, one person was injured in a rollover truck accident just before 6:30 a.m. along Interstate Highway 10.
According to authorities, a man was traveling in an eastbound Freightliner 18-wheeler hauling a trailer in the left-hand lane of I.H. 10 in the vicinity of F.M. 2238 when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, a second 18-wheeler with a trailer in tow which had been traveling in the right lane made a lane change to the inside lane at an unsafe time. This forced the Freightliner to veer left in order to avoid a collision, entering the median area. There, it collided with a cable barrier, continuing its eastward trajectory before reportedly becoming airborne. It then crashed into a guardrail on the west side of F.M. 2238 before crossing both the north and southbound lanes of that cross street. It then crashed through the guardrail on the opposite side of the road and overturned, coming to a stop resting on its right side and facing north in the east roadside ditch beside F.M. 2238.
The 18-wheeler which had allegedly made the unsafe lane change did not stop, leaving the scene without rendering aid of any sort to the victim. The man incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was taken to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
