Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
A question I always as after single-vehicle accidents is: Have authorities been fair in their investigations? The unfortunate reality is a lot of single-vehicle accidents are treated as low priority. As a result, officers sometimes lack the time and tools needed to do a proper investigation. Independent investigators can help pick up the slack, but it's important to involve them early if possible so they can catch some of the more time-sensitive details. It's possible authorities here have been more thorough on their own, but that's just not something I'd ever take for granted.
