Sandra Prieto Injured in Alleged Drunk Driver Accident in Pasadena, TX
Pasadena, TX — January 1, 2025, Sandra Prieto was injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at approximately 4:30 a.m. along Crenshaw Road.
According to authorities, 48-year-old Sandra Prieto and a 37-year-old man were traveling in a westbound Mercedes-Benz on Crenshaw Road in the vicinity of the Young Street intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that an eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe occupied by an allegedly drunk 43-year-old man failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It apparently veered left-of-center, entering the opposing lane of traffic. There, it was involved in a collision with the oncoming Mercedes-Benz.
Prieto suffered reportedly serious injuries over the course of the accident. It doesn't appear that anyone else involved was hurt. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Incidents like this raise important questions about how such collisions happen, especially in the early morning hours when impaired driving is more common. Authorities allege that the driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe was intoxicated, which, if true, suggests this crash may have been entirely preventable.
Whenever alcohol is suspected in a crash, it’s critical to investigate not just the driver’s actions but also where they had been before the collision. Texas law prohibits alcohol providers from serving individuals who are obviously intoxicated. If the driver had been drinking at a bar, restaurant, or similar establishment, and staff ignored signs of intoxication, that establishment could share responsibility for the injuries caused under Texas dram shop law.
Dram shop laws are designed to promote accountability. They hold alcohol providers to a high standard of care, ensuring they serve responsibly and avoid overserving patrons who may then put others at risk. Identifying the source of alcohol is a key step in understanding the bigger picture and ensuring that anyone who contributed to this crash is held accountable.
For Sandra Prieto and others injured in alcohol-related crashes, getting the full truth is essential. Investigating whether unlawful alcohol service played a role in this incident not only helps those affected but also reinforces the importance of responsible alcohol service. Accountability is a vital step toward preventing these types of crashes and making Texas roads safer for everyone.
