Pedestrian Killed in Scooter Hit-and-Run Truck Accident on 6th St. in Kansas City, MO
Kansas City, MO — April 3, 2024, a pedestrian riding a scooter was killed following a hit-and-run truck accident at approximately 7:00 p.m. along 6th Street.
According to authorities, a pedestrian was traveling on a westbound scooter along 6th Street at the Prospect Avenue intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pedestrian neglected to stop for the stop sign at Prospect Avenue, entering the intersection at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in the pedestrian being run over by the back wheels of the trailer of an 18-wheeler which had been traveling southbound on Prospect. The 18-wheeler neglected to stop after the accident, reportedly leaving the scene without offering aid of any sort to the victim. However, reports indicate that the big rig and its driver were later located by authorities.
The pedestrian incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
