Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
It's not too unusual for there to be so few details available this soon after a serious commercial truck accident. They can be incredibly complex, and it takes time, state-of-the-art tools, and ample experience to properly navigate. Sometimes, even authorities aren't able to handle that on their own.
It's one of the reasons I tend to rely on independent accident reconstructionists. For victims and families to get the help they need, they need to be sure they're getting the full story. If authorities were so focused on clearing the crash scene that they failed to gather and preserve evidence, that can prove challenging.
That's why it's often prudent to follow up with authorities as soon as possible to gauge whether they're taking investigations seriously or the crash would be better off in the hands of independent investigators.
