West Covina, CA -- January 25, 2023, one person was killed after an accident where a semi-truck and a car collided along the 10 Freeway.

Officials said that the accident happened at around 2:16 a.m. along the San Bernardino Freeway in the area of Pacific Avenue. It happened along westbound lanes, but the exact cause of the crash is unclear. It appears a white Honda and a semi-truck somehow collided, and a woman in the Honda died as a result. No further information can be confirmed at this time.

This soon after a serious truck wreck, it's not exactly unusual for there to be so few details. The question, though, is if steps are being taken to get more information. Obviously, people would rely on the authorities to be taking those steps. Officers are more than capable of doing so, but it would shock people to see how often their departments deprive them of the time and equipment they need to do their jobs properly.

That's bad enough in any serious car accident which requires thorough investigations to handle. It's even worse when the crash involves a commercial vehicle, as it brings with it the trucking and insurance companies who begin work immediately with their own investigations. If nothing else, victims and families. more than anyone, deserve to know the facts. If no one is working on their behalf to ensure they get answers, how can they be sure they know the whole story?
