Shelby Nicole Garcia Injured in Car Accident in Lake Jackson, TX
Lake Jackson, TX — March 21, 2024, Shelby Garcia was injured following a single-vehicle car accident at around 1:10 a.m. along the Nolan Ryan Expressway.
Authorities said following preliminary investigations that the crash happened on eastbound lanes of the Highway 332/288 service road just off the corner of Flag Lake Drive.

The crash reportedly involved 29-year-old Shelby Garcia who was in a Nissan approaching Flag Lake in the right lane of the service road. Somehow, the Nissan ran off the side of the road. It hopped the curb, struck the stop sign, then came to a stop outside of a Shell gas station.
As a result of the accident, Garcia had apparently serious injuries. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the crash. The cause of the crash is not confirmed at this time.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
With single-vehicle wrecks, it's best to always take early investigations with a grain of salt.
Proper accident reconstructions can take time, since they have to rule out things like mechanical issues, road design, tire blowouts, medical conditions, hit-and-runs, and defects. Folks tend to just assume the driver did something wrong, and that's often true. But there could be extenuating circumstances which authorities alone may not be equipped to handle. Letting something important slip through the cracks isn't going to do anyone any good. Put simply, getting answers and not blaming people for something they might not have had control over means letting the evidence speak for itself.
