Stephen Olsen Killed in Alleged Drunk Driving Crash in Campbell, TX
Campbell, TX — February 19, 2023, Stephen Olsen was killed by an alleged drunk and wrong-way driver around 1 a.m. on Hwy. 24 in Campbell, TX.
Crash investigators report Stephen Olsen's Dodge Challenger was northbound on Hwy. 24 when it was struck head-on by a wrong-way Ford F-250. The collision's impact purportedly sent the Ford F-250 into a rollover and caused Stephen Olsen's Challenger to catch fire.
Stephen Olsen suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The two occupants of the F-250 reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Police recommended charging the driver of the F-250 with a violation of Section 521.021 for driving with an expired license, and they are waiting for the toxicology results for the driver of the F-250. Police strongly suspect DWI as there were empty beer cans and the smell of alcohol in the F-250.
