Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
It's possible authorities brought up alcohol here just to be thorough, and maybe evidence will show it wasn't a factor. However, it would be a serious issue if there was a minor behind the wheel while drunk. Driving drunk is serious enough on its own without wondering if someone in the community is providing alcohol to minors. Sometimes, it's a parent, sibling, or older acquaintance. Other times, it's a local business breaking the rules and selling alcohol to people they shouldn't be. Either way, that sort of behavior clearly can lead to harm, and it needs to be rooted out and corrected before anyone else gets hurt.
