Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One of the main concerns with any motorcycle wreck is: Will investigators be thorough and unbiased in their efforts? The unfortunate reality is a lot of people have a negative view of motorcyclists. This can lead authorities to jump to conclusions or overlook possibilities they feel are unlikely.
I know from experience that most riders are safe drivers, and their accidents are worth as thorough and fair an investigation as any other serious accidents. That's why it's sometimes crucial that victims and families involved in these situations follow up with the authorities. If they're able to address all concerns adequately, that's a good sign. But if it seems like details aren't adding up, then authorities may not be giving the investigation the care and attention it deserves.
