Thomas McCormick Jr. Killed in Truck Accident in Brazoria County, TX
Brazoria County, TX — September 13, 2023, Thomas McCormick Jr. was killed following a truck accident at around 6:36 a.m. along Highway 36.
According to public information from officials, the incident happened at around 6:36 a.m. along Highway 36 in the area of F.M. 522.

Officials said in preliminary statements that 76-year-old Thomas McCormick Jr. was in a Dodge Ram truck said to be going northbound along the highway. Ahead, authorities say that a Freightliner truck was southbound in the center turn lane at a stop. The truck then backed across northbound lanes toward a driveway where it "stopped while blocking the northbound lane." As a result, authorities McCormick's Dodge crashed into the semi-truck.
McCormick sustained injuries in the crash which proved to be fatal. There did not appear to be any other injuries resulting from the crash. Right now, authorities have not made official statements on potential charges or citations. Investigations are ongoing.
