Toddler Killed in Alleged Hit-and-run Accident off Ranchester Drive in Houston, TX
Houston, TX — May 7, 2023, a toddler was killed following an alleged hit-and-run accident at around 7:30 p.m. along Ranchester Drive.
Investigators with the Houston Police Department reported that the incident happened on the property of an apartment complex off the corner of the Ranchester Drive and Bellaire Boulevard intersection.

According to statements from officials, a 2-year-old child was on foot at the apartment complex parking lot. Due to a series of events currently unclear, a vehicle backing up struck the child. That vehicle apparently then left the scene.
The child's injuries ultimately proved fatal following transportation to a hospital. No other injuries were confirmed. Authorities said they were able to locate and take into custody a suspect driver. That person wasn't identified, and it's unclear at this time what charges may be pending. Investigations are ongoing.
