Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Even if OSHA did find violations here, that wouldn't necessarily be the beginning and end of the story. Texas has uniquely complex work fatality laws, so it can take quite a bit of legal maneuvering to get families a fair and just outcome. There isn't always a clear path available, which is why it's helpful to think of OSHA as part of the larger picture. Their efforts are important, but there have to be efforts prioritizing the needs of the worker's family to make sure all possible legal avenues are thoroughly explored.
