1 Killed in Truck Accident on I-70 in Columbus, OH
Columbus, OH — October 15, 2023, a man was killed as a result of a semi-truck accident around 12:49 p.m. on I-70 near the Woodcrest Road overpass.
According to authorities, the semi-truck was traveling along the westbound lanes of the interstate on the east end of Columbus.
For reasons which are unknown, the semi-truck veered out of the westbound lanes, through the median barriers, and into the the eastbound lanes before re-crossing the median. Then, after re-entering the westbound lanes, the truck collided with the bridge embankment of the Woodcrest Road overpass.
Authorities state that the driver was taken from the scene of the accident to a nearby medical facility by emergency services. Later, however, it was reported that the driver had succumbed to the injuries sustained during the incident. The accident is still under investigation and the identity of the driver is yet to be made public. No further details are available at this time.
