Woman Injured in Truck Accident on FM 1960 in Dayton, TX
Dayton, TX -- October 26, 2022, one person was injured due to an accident where her vehicle and a semi-truck crashed on FM 1960.
Preliminary public details provided by authorities say that the crash took place off the corner of FM 1960 and CR 613 at around 4:40 p.m. It appears that a 51-year-old woman was in a Ford Mustang traveling eastbound along FM 1960. While rounding a curve, the vehicle lost control while apparently trying to avoid a vehicle ahead. This led to the car crashing into an oncoming commercial truck.

The woman's injuries were said to be incapacitating. No one else was said to be injured. Additional details regarding the other vehicle involved are unclear at this time.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Perhaps authorities know more than they've said to the public, but it would surprise folks to see how even seemingly obvious factors can slip through the cracks during police investigations.
Unfortunately, departments don't always prioritize accident reconstruction. This can leave officers without the time or tools needed to handle even relatively simple crashes, let alone complex commercial truck wrecks.
Was this other vehicle simply slowing to make a turn? Did they not have working brake lights? Were they driving dangerously below the speed limit? Did they cut off the victim? One way or another, something caused this woman's vehicle to go into oncoming lanes, nearly causing a deadly collision. There should at least be some clear explanation as to why that happened and how it could have been avoided.
