Accidents aren't simple just because one vehicle was involved. Especially with commercial vehicles, there are all kinds of possible factors to consider. Driver hours, training, cargo shifts, potential vehicle defects, road hazards, tire failure, medical emergencies, etc. Likely or not, these things need to be ruled out, and that takes careful analysis a typical police investigation can't always offer. Especially with the complexity of a fiery crash scene, it's important the victim's loved ones know that experienced accident reconstructionists will dig into the details and take every possible step to preserve evidence and get the full story.
