1 Killed, 1 Injured in Truck Accident on I.H. 40 in Memphis, TN
Memphis, TN — April 7, 2024, one person was killed and another was injured in a truck accident just after 4:15 p.m. along Interstate Highway 40.
According to authorities, the accident occurred on I.H. 40 in the vicinity of Sycamore View Drive.
The causal factors that led to the wreck remain unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an 18-wheeler and another vehicle were involved in a collision. Due to the collision, the 18-wheeler reportedly burst into flames.
One victim incurred fatal injuries due to the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. The other victim sustained injuries of unknown severity, though they were not described as critical; they were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
