1 Killed, 1 Injured in Truck Accident on I.H. 75 in Wildwood, FL
Wildwood, FL — April 2, 2024, one person was killed and another was injured in a truck accident at approximately 3:45 p.m. along I.H. 75.
According to authorities, two men ages 22 and 25 were traveling in a northbound Nissan Rogue on the onramp leading from State Road 44 to northbound I.H. 75 when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the Nissan failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered to the right, entering the shoulder of the onramp where it collided with the trailer of an 18-wheeler that had been parked in a paved area.
The 25-year-old from the Nissan incurred critical injuries as a result of the wreck, while the 22-year-old sustained apparently minor injuries. The 25-year-old was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. However, he was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of his injuries, having later been declared deceased. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
