Two Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident on I-35 in Austin, TX
Austin, TX — April 9, 2023, two people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident around 10:37 p.m. on Interstate 35 in Austin.
According to authorities, the victim's Dodge Ram 1500 was southbound on an I-35 service road, approaching East Huntland Dr., when the vehicle failed to negotiate a turn and struck a concrete pole head-on. The driver and two passengers allegedly fled the scene of the crash leaving two incapacitated passengers behind.
The two injured victims were transported to a hospital.
The police have not recommended any charges and are still looking for the missing driver. Authorities believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
