Two Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 158 in Kill Devil Hills, NC
Kill Devil Hills, NC — April 17, 2023, two people were injured in a collision between a pickup truck and a semi-truck around 2 p.m. on U.S. 158 in Kill Devil Hills.
Sources report a Toyota pickup truck and a semi-truck hauling an excavator on a flatbed trailer were both traveling southbound on the 4-lane highway, U.S. 183, near the intersection with Prospect Ave. when the two trucks collided. The collision reportedly sent both trucks across the northbound lanes of the highway, off the road, and into a utility pole.
Officials say the Toyota was pinned between the utility pole and the semi-truck and that emergency crews extracted the driver with non-life-threatening injuries. The semi-truck driver also purportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Both victims were taken to a hospital.
Authorities have not released the cause of the crash at this time.
