Tyson Lee Injured in Car Accident in Texas City, TX
Galveston County, TX — February 27, 2024, Tyson Lee sustained injuries due to a single-vehicle car accident at around 2:40 a.m. along F.M. 646.
According to officials, the incident happened on the north side near Bacliff, west of the Highway 146 intersection.

It appears that 24-year-old Tyson Jaquia Lee was a passenger in a Dodge Durango going eastbound on F.M. 646. The vehicle apparently8 lost control, began skidding left of center, then overturned off the side of the road. Due to this, Tyson Lee sustained serious injuries. Neither the driver nor another passenger in the vehicle had reported injuries, according to officials.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
In their statements, authorities alleged that alcohol is a possible factor in the crash. If that's true, then it could bring up some serious consequences. But I'm not here to comment on any sort of accusations concerning criminal matters. Rather, I'm concerned with an often overlooked area of Texas law that can be vital for people hurt in these kinds of wrecks. Simply put, there may be a local alcohol provider responsible for contributing to this accident.
It's illegal in Texas for alcohol providers like bars and liquor stores to serve someone who's obviously intoxicated. Doing so can open an establishment to various consequences, such as criminal charges, civil liability, fines, and even revoking of their liquor license. So when bars recklessly over-serve someone who gets into an accident and hurts their passenger, that's something that could involve more than one wrongdoer on the hook for that person's injuries.
But if authorities put all of their focus on the alleged drunk driver, they could miss the forest for the trees. That's why I have to wonder whether authorities here are being thorough and actually giving those affected here proper attention or if their only goal is to put someone blame a single person and move on without addressing the bigger picture.
