Vidor Man, 2 Children Injured in Single-car Accident on F.M. 1131 in Orange County, TX
Orange County, TX — February 15, 2025, a man and two children were injured following a single-vehicle car accident at around 10:45 p.m. along F.M. 1131.
According to authorities, three people—a 37-year-old man, and two girls ages three and five—were traveling in a southeast bound Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck on Farm to Market 1131 in the vicinity of the Craft Lane intersection when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the pickup failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It was reportedly involved in a single vehicle collision in which it apparently crashed into an embankment.
The man and the five-year-old girl sustained serious injuries over the course of the accident, according to reports, while the three-year-old suffered more minor injuries. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When a vehicle leaves the roadway and crashes, many assume the driver simply lost control. While that could be the case, my 30 years of experience investigating crashes have shown that factors beyond driver error are often involved. Without a full investigation, key details might be missed, leaving those affected without the full story of what really happened.
First, did the authorities conduct a thorough investigation? Police reports typically document the scene and any visible evidence, but they may not explore deeper contributing factors. Were road conditions at the time of the crash considered? Was there any evidence of another vehicle being involved? Did the driver take evasive action to avoid something in the roadway? If the investigation doesn’t take these possibilities into account, critical details could be overlooked.
Second, has anyone considered whether a mechanical failure or vehicle defect played a role? If a tire blowout, brake failure, or steering malfunction occurred, the driver may not have had control over the vehicle’s path. If these factors are ignored, it could mean missing a potential source of liability—one that might make a significant difference for the injured victims.
Finally, has all available electronic data been reviewed? Many modern vehicles are equipped with onboard systems that record key information before a crash, such as speed, steering inputs, and braking efforts. If something other than driver error contributed to the wreck, this data could help prove it. Additionally, surveillance footage from nearby businesses or traffic cameras might provide more clarity about the moments leading up to the crash.
At the end of the day, answering these questions could be essential to understanding what really happened and why. A thorough examination of all three of these issues—including the quality of police investigations, possible vehicle defects, and electronic data—is the least that can be done to ensure that those affected by the crash receive the clarity they deserve.
