William L. Goodson Killed, Clifton Harris Injured in Truck Accident in Lee County, AR
Lee County, AR — September 22, 2023, William Goodson was killed and Clifton Harris was injured after a truck accident at around 10:40 a.m. on U.S. 79.
Authorities said in a crash summary that the incident happened along southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 79.

Details say that 85-year-old William Goodson was the driver of a Toyota Tacoma going southbound on the highway. 86-year-old Clifton Harris was identified as the driver of a Mack truck traveling southbound some distance behind Goodson.
According to Arkansas DPS, Goodson turned in an attempt to make a u-turn. While doing so, for reasons unclear, the Mack truck could not avoid the Toyota, crashing into it. As a result, Goodson sustained fatal injuries. Harris had injuries of unspecified severity. Right now, no further information about the factors leading up to the crash can be confirmed.
