Worker Dies at Sterling Shipyard in Port Neches, TX
Port Neches, TX — April 11, 2025, a man was died while working at the Sterling Shipyard in an event which remains under investigation.
Reports about the accident were released at around noon on Friday. The incident happened at the Sterling Shipyard off Main Street and Rachford Avenue.

Current statements say there was a 35-year-old Port Arthur man welding at the time. In a series of events unclear, the man ended up dying. Authorities are not confirming at this time if the death was the result of a medical condition or an accident.

Hopefully authorities have worked to make sure the family has a clearer picture of what happened than the public. If nothing else, a family deserves to know they're getting the whole story after losing a loved one. That's only more true if there was some kind of accident.
