Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
To be clear, I can't say without seeing more information if these alleged violations occurred or if they contributed to this person's death. But I can't imagine an employer ignoring rules regarding the safety of their own employees, especially a 19-year-old kid. Something went horribly wrong here, and OSHA seems to think there were mistakes bad enough to warrant recommendations of potential fines. Did those mistakes cause this fatal accident? And if so, who's responsible, and are they putting other people's loved ones in danger?
