Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
There certainly isn't much information about this incident available to the public right now. One can only hope officials were more thorough behind the scenes for the sake of the victim's loved ones. Unfortunately, a lot of families end up with just as little information as the public after an accident. Authorities don't always take the time to look into all relevant factors, so important information can slip through the cracks.
For example, something I always look into with fatal commercial vehicle accidents is if authorities inspected the truck for defects. This goes overlooked far too often just because defects aren't as common as other possible factors. They do happen, though, so it's irresponsible to overlook them. That's why if authorities can't answer questions about potential vehicle defects relating to an accident, it could be a red flag they're overlooking other possibilities and not really getting the whole story. Did that happen here?
