Beaumont, TX — July 14, 2025, a 2-year-old child was injured due to an alleged hit-and-run accident at around 1:20 a.m. on College Street.
Initial statements about the accident say that it happened near the intersection of College Street and Major Drive, just off Glendale Avenue.

According to officials, a 2-year-old had exited a vehicle and was on foot. As the child walked, an SUV struck them. That vehicle then reportedly left the scene. EMS transported the child to a hospital via helicopter.
Right now, authorities say they're looking for "a newer model black Chevrolet Tahoe." Investigations are ongoing.
Commentary
When it comes to hit-and-runs, one of the best things people can do is spread the information as much in the public eye as possible. Doing so will help the information reach more people, and someone may be able to connect some dots that help to identify the suspect. That way, they can be held accountable for leaving the scene and for any other potential factors surrounding the accident itself (drunk driving, for example). Hopefully authorities continue to give this accident the attention it deserves.
