Dozens Injured in Tourist Bus Accident on East 23rd in Manhattan, NY
New York, NY — July 6, 2023, dozens of passengers were reported injured after a double decker tourist bus accident at around 7:15 p.m. along East 23rd.
Preliminary details about the crash say that it took place in the area of the East 23rd Street and First Avenue intersection and involved an MTA express bus and a double-decker tourist bus.
Right now, statements from officials indicate that the tourist bust may have gone through a red light, leading to a collision with the MTA bus. Due to this, some reports an estimated 80 people had to be treated for various injuries. Those injuries apparently ranged from minor cuts and bruises to potential fractures and head injuries. There severity of those injuries is not entirely clear right now.
