Several Injured in Bus Accident on S.R. 16 in Calhoun County, WV
UPDATE (April 11, 2025): Recent reports have been released which state that the 54-year-old man who had been behind the wheel of the bus at the time of the accident has plead guilty to three counts of DUI causing serious bodily harm. He has also plead guilty to an additional sixteen counts of child neglect creating a risk of serious bodily injury or death. No additional details are currently available.
Calhoun County, WV — March 4, 2024, several students were injured in a school bus accident that took place in the morning along S.R. 16.
According to authorities, a school bus was transporting 19 students along State Route 16 when the accident occurred.

The causal factors that led to the wreck are still unclear. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the school bus somehow overturned as it was traveling down the roadway. At least three of the students who had been on board the bus at the time incurred injuries of unknown severity as a result of the crash. They were transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment.
The driver of the bus is purportedly facing multiple charges. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
