Daniel Webb, Kaylee Webb, Children Injured in Car Accident in Nacogdoches County, TX
Nacogdoches County, TX — March 1, 2024, Daniel Webb, Kaylee Webb, and two children were injured after a car accident at around 7:15 p.m. along U.S. Highway 259.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened at the intersection of U.S. 259 and County Road 122, several miles north of Nacogdoches.
According to officials, 28-year-old Daniel Webb, 25-year-old Kaylee Webb, and two children were in a Chevy Equinox going southbound along the highway. At C.R. 122, police say a westbound pickup failed to yield at a stop sign, and the vehicles collided.

Due to the collision, a 6-year-old in the Webbs' vehicle had apparently serious injuries. Daniel Webb, Kaylee Webb, and a baby in the car had injuries described as moderate. The pickup driver also reportedly sustained injuries. That driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred. Right now, additional details remain unconfirmed.
If the allegations of drunk driving are true, it's crucial authorities find out if the driver had been illegally over-served by a local establishment. Folks tend to only think of bars and the like being involved in late night or early morning wrecks, but 7:15 p.m. on a Friday is plenty of time to put lives at risk.
I'll give a perfect example. Not long ago, we had a family call us after a drunk driver hit their car, seriously injuring their young child. In our investigations, we retraced the drunk driver's steps and found he'd been drinking with co-workers at a happy hour after they got off their shift. Despite the fact the man drank to the point he could barely walk to and from the bathroom, servers continued pouring drinks until he paid his substantial tab and stumbled out to his car to nearly get a kid killed.
What was particularly frustrating about that case, though, was that authorities weren't anywhere to be found. They never bothered looking beyond the drunk driver, so the alcohol provider likely would have avoided consequences entirely had the family they harmed relied solely on authorities to take action. That's why I hope authorities here are being more thorough, but it unfortunately wouldn't surprise me to hear otherwise.
