Drew Robert Nickerson Injured in Car Accident in Plano, TX
Plano, TX — December 17, 2023, Drew Robert Nickerson was injured as the result of a car accident at around 3:00 a.m. along Dallas North Tollway.
According to officials, the crash took place along northbound lanes of the tollway in the area of Plano Parkway.

Authorities said that the incident involved 19-year-old Drew Robert Nickerson, reportedly in a Toyota 4Runner. Nickerson's Toyota somehow went to the right out of its lane where it hit a guardrail and overturned off the side of the road. As a result, Nickerson had apparently serious injuries.
After single-vehicle wrecks like this, my first reaction is to wait for more details to come to light. That needs to include investigations into things like mechanical defects, road hazards, medical conditions, etc. Likely or not, I don't take possibilities off the table unless evidence says otherwise. Unfortunately, people are far less willing to extend this level of care to teenage drivers. Just because they're statistically more likely to cause a crash, any sense of prudence flies out the window. Despite not knowing anything more than anyone else in the public, a lot of folks just blame the victim. I would discourage people from being so hasty, especially when there could still be unusual circumstances yet to be considered here.
