Gerardo Morelos, Evelyn Trujillo Zuniga Killed in Car Accident in Houston, TX
UPDATE (February 23, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify what happened leading up to and during this accident. According to these reports, the incident took place on in the southbound lanes of Southwest Freeway in the area southwest of Commerce Park Drive. A Honda Civic occupied by a 23-year-old Evelyn Trujillo Zuniga was allegedly disabled in the left inside lane of the roadway. 22-year-old Gerardo Morelos was apparently on foot on the passenger side of the Civic.
Authorities state that the front right corner of a southbound Volkswagen Jetta collided with the back left of the Civic. This collision pushed the Civic into Morales, reports state. Both Zuniga and Morales incurred fatal injuries as a result of the accident and were declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
Houston, TX — January 21, 2024, two people were killed in a car accident at approximately 2:00 in the morning along U.S. Highway 59.
According to authorities, the accident took place along U.S. Highway 59 in the vicinity of the Bissonnet Street overpass.

The causal factors that led to the accident are still unclear. Officials have confirmed, however, that two people—Gerardo Morelos and Evelyn Trujillo Zuniga—were killed as a result of the wreck. At this point in time, the number vehicles involved is unknown; neither is it known if there were any other injured victims.
The weather and road conditions in the area at the time have not been reported on. Additional details regarding this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
