Jessica Lara Gomez Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident in Jefferson County, TX
Jefferson County, TX — January 2, 2024, Jessica Lara Gomez was killed as the result of a single-vehicle car accident at around 3:25 a.m. on Brush Island Road.
Authorities said in their statements that the crash occurred just off the Interstate 10 eastbound service road, northeast of Winnie.
According to officials, 34-year-old Jessica Lara Gomez was in a Jeep Wrangler going southbound along Brush Island Road. Police say that the Jeep somehow went to the right off the roadway before then veering left. The vehicle then began to overturn repeatedly. Lara Gomez was thrown from the vehicle as a result.
Due to the accident, Lara Gomez sustained fatal injuries. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the crash. Right now, there aren't enough public details to confirm the cause of the accident. Investigations are ongoing.
