Officer Tina Egleston, 1 Injured in Car Accident on I-35 in San Antonio, TX
UPDATE (January 26, 2024): Reports identified one of the victims in the crash as Edgewood ISD Police Officer Tina Egleston. Officer Egleston was apparently on break from an off-duty job when she stopped to help the stranded motorist. Officer Egleston and the stranded motorist were both injured. Officer Egleston apparently is in a medically-induced coma at the time of writing and continues to recover. Further information about the driver who hit the victims remains unavailable at this time.
San Antonio, TX — January 20, 2024, two people were injured in a car accident at approximately 8:00 p.m. along Interstate 35.
According to authorities, the accident took place along Interstate Highway 35 north in the vicinity of Cibolo Xing.

A 55-year-old woman had allegedly stopped her Jeep partially in the shoulder in order to help a stranded motorist using some jumper cables. Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, a vehicle collided with the back of the Jeep, which was pushed into the woman and the stranded motorist.
The woman incurred reportedly critical injuries as a result of the accident, while the other victim sustained injuries of unknown severity. They were both transported to local medical facilities in order to receive treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details regarding this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
