Samuel Baer Killed in Motorcycle Car Accident in Alma, TX
Ellis County, TX — June 10, 2024, Samuel Baer was killed following a motorcycle versus pickup truck accident at approximately 4:15 p.m. along F.M. 1183.
According to authorities, 65-year-old Samuel Baer was traveling on a westbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Farm to Market 1183 in the vicinity east of Alma Drive when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an eastbound Ford Maverick pickup truck on F.M. 1183 made a left turn onto a private drive across the westbound lanes of the roadway at an apparently unsafe time. This caused the motorcycle to make an evasive maneuver toward the left in order to avoid a collision; however this led to a head-on collision with an eastbound Ford F-150 which had been in the lane behind the Maverick.
Baer suffered reportedly fatal injuries due to the wreck. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
