Teenagers Injured in Alleged Intoxicated Driver Accident on North Loop Dr. in Socorro, TX
El Paso County, TX — May 18, 2024, three teenagers were injured following an alleged intoxicated driver accident at around 1:50 a.m. along North Loop Drive.
According to investigations from authorities, the incident happened at the intersection of North Loop Drive (F.M. 76) and Horizon Boulevard.

Investigators said that a 15-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy, and a 13-year-old girl were in a Ford Taurus going westbound on Horizon. A Chevy Silverado going eastbound reportedly failed to yield making a left turn, and it crashed into the Ford. As a result, all three teens in the Ford had reportedly serious injuries.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
At this time, it's said that the driver of the Chevy Silverado was under the influence of alcohol. But despite what some may think, drunk drivers aren't always the only ones responjsible for a serious accident like this. The alcohol providers who serve them can also be on the hook.
This is due to it being illegal in Texas to over-serve someone who is obviously intoxicated. Doing so means that the establishment is open to potential criminal investigations, fines, license suspensions, and even liability if the over-service leads to people getting hurt. Unfortunately, that's not something authorities tend to give much attention to. They often just hold the drunk driver accountable and move on. But if there's someone else out there responsible for what happened, shouldn't they also face the appropriate consequences?
