Virginia Aracely Vasquez Injured in Car Accident in Houston, TX
Houston, TX — December 7, 2023, Virginia Aracely Vasquez was injured following a car versus pedestrian accident at around 12:30 a.m. on the Gulf Freeway.
Initial details about the crash released by authorities said that the collision occurred on northbound lanes of the freeway near Tellepsen Street, just off Telephone Road.

According to officials, 30-year-old Virginia Vasquez had apparently been in a Mazda CX-7 involved in a previous accident. This left the Mazda stationary in a lane of travel. Vasquez was said to be outside the vehicle when a Dodge Grand Caravan crashed into it, hitting Vasquez in the process.
Due to the collision, Vasquez sustained injuries described as serious. One person in the Dodge had apparently moderate injuries while another had possibly minor injuries. Right now, additional details are unavailable.
One key factor accident reconstructionists tend to look for in these situations is just how visible the stationary vehicle was. If, for example, a car is not lit and in the middle of a dark freeway, even a safe, attentive driver may not be able to avoid a collision. But if evidence shows the vehicle's lights and hazards were on, or if other drivers had no issues avoiding the stationary vehicle, a driver failing to avoid a collision would raise some red flags. So what exactly happened here?
