Eastland County, TX — January 16, 2023, Calob Kenas was killed and four people were injured due to a car accident at around 11:00 p.m. on Loop 254 in Ranger.
Preliminary statements from authorities indicated that the fatal car crash happened in the area of Loop 254 and Tiffin Road in central Ranger.

According to initial details about the accident, authorities say that 20-year-old Calob Kenas was the driver of a Toyota Camry which was going eastbound along Loop 254. For reasons which cannot be confirmed at this time, the Toyota somehow lost control. This caused the car to veer into oncoming lanes where it collided head-on with a Chevy Silverado pickup.
As a result of the crash, Kenas succumbed to fatal injuries. Four people who were in the Chevy were said to have incapacitating injuries following the collision. They were taken to hospitals in Fort Worth via air transport, officials say. Those victims were not identified. At this time, the cause of the crash remains unconfirmed.
