J’Marya Gaskin Killed, Two Injured in Car Accident on Yale Street in Houston, TX
Houston, TX — May 8, 2023, J'Marya Gaskin was killed, and two others were injured in a car accident around 7:16 p.m. on Yale Street in Houston.
Sources report the victims' Kia Optima was southbound on Yale St. and approaching the intersection with E. 38th St. when the front left corner of the car allegedly collided with the rear right corner of a southbound Nissan Sentra.
The impact purportedly forced the Optima to lose control, veer towards the passenger side while crossing the intersection, exit the road in the southwestern corner, strike a utility pole, and collide with a tree head-on.
Ms. J'Marya Gaskin perished in the accident.
Investigators report the Optima's rear seat passengers, on the right and left sides, of the car sustained minor injuries while the rear middle seat passenger and the front seat passenger were uninjured. No injuries were reported for the Nissan Sentra.
Reports indicate authorities have not determined the cause of the crash.
