Ryan Aytch Snyder Killed in Car Accident in Bay City, TX
Matagorda County, TX — February 19, 2024, Ryan Aytch Snyder was killed following a car accident at around 9:00 p.m. along 7th Street.
Officials said that the crash took place in the area of 7th Street (Highway 35) and Sargent Drive (F.M. 457).

Preliminary information suggests that 35-year-old Ryan Snyder was on a Harley Davidson motorcycle going westbound along 7th Street. Up ahead, it appears a pickup was making a turn, and the motorcycle somehow crashed with the truck. As a result, Snyder sustained fatal injuries. No one else was hurt.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
With these early reports, the exact cause of the crash can't be confirmed. Too often, though, I come across people immediately blaming motorcyclists without actually knowing any of the facts. That's because folks generally assume all motorcyclists are reckless drivers even though I've seen plenty of examples to show that's not true. Drivers obviously make mistakes, but applying that assumption across every rider is just irresponsible.
The problem is that sometimes even authorities can jump to these conclusions, and unless there are independent investigations to set them straight, their biased view of things may remain unchallenged. Regardless of who or what caused this crash, my hope is that authorities here were fair and thorough. That way, the victim's loved ones can see the evidence speak for itself.
