Moore County, TX — May 9, 2024, one person was injured in a truck accident at approximately 5:30 a.m. along U.S. Highway 287.

A semi-truck and passenger car collision occurred Thursday morning at the intersection of U.S. 287 and FM 119 north of Dumas, resulting in one person being hospitalized in Amarillo.

According to authorities, a cattle truck exiting a cattle feed yard with a load of cattle was struck by a passenger vehicle traveling on U.S. 287. Reports stated that the truck driver failed to yield the right of way, pulling into the path of the passenger vehicle and causing the collision. One person—the sole occupant of the passenger vehicle—was injured and transported to a local medial facility by EMS in order to receive treatment. The investigation is currently ongoing.
