1 Injured in Truck Accident on Lincoln Hwy. in Paradise Twp., PA
York County, PA — March 12, 2025, one person was injured in a truck accident shortly before 6:15 a.m. along Lincoln Highway (U.S. Highway 30).
According to authorities, one person was traveling in a westbound pickup truck with a box trailer in tow on Lincoln Highway in the vicinity of the Locust Avenue intersection when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an eastbound 18-wheeler side-swiped the pickup truck. The impact apparently sent the pickup off of the right side of the roadway where it crashed into a barn wall.
The person who had been behind the wheel of the pickup sustained injuries of unknown severity over the course of the accident—though they were apparently non-life-threatening, according to reports. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When an 18-wheeler sideswipes a pickup truck and forces it off the road, the key question isn’t just what happened, but why it happened. In my experience handling truck accident cases, wrecks like this rarely occur without multiple contributing factors that need to be examined.
Why did the truck drift or move into the pickup’s path? Professional drivers are trained to maintain their lane and check blind spots before making any lateral movements. Investigators need to determine whether the truck driver was distracted, fatigued, or failed to properly assess their surroundings. Reviewing dashcam footage, black box data, and cell phone records could provide insight.
Did the truck’s trailer contribute to the impact? Long trailers create significant blind spots, and improper maneuvering can cause trailer swing or lane encroachment. If the truck driver failed to account for their trailer’s position, that could explain how the sideswipe occurred. Investigators should examine the truck’s turn signal usage, lane positioning, and crash scene evidence to determine what went wrong.
Was the pickup’s trailer a factor? Towing a trailer affects a vehicle’s handling and stability. If the pickup driver attempted to evade the truck but lost control due to the trailer’s weight, that could explain why it veered off the road. Investigators should review vehicle weights, crash reconstruction data, and the driver’s evasive actions to understand how the impact unfolded.
Did the trucking company play a role? Trucking companies are responsible for ensuring their drivers are properly trained and follow safe driving practices. If this driver was inexperienced, under pressure to meet deadlines, or operating a truck with faulty mirrors or lane-departure systems, those details need to be examined. Investigators should review company policies, training records, and past safety violations to determine whether broader issues contributed to the crash.
At the end of the day, the most important thing is finding answers. Even if it takes an independent investigation to gather the right evidence, it’s critical to examine every factor to ensure those affected by the crash get the clarity they deserve.
